ANOTHER TIP FROM MURRAY ARNOLD
..Getting players to "run the floor" at full speed in both directions
is a priority for all coaches. Every player should be totally committed
to the belief that: "nothing ever happens behind the ball." Always
sprint until you are ahead of the ball
The ratio of Free Throw Attemps (FTA) to 3 Point Attempts (3PTA) can be
very valuable in coaching. It is a defining indicator of style, tempo,
priorities, and shot selection. A very simple way of making players
aware of what the coach wants to emphasize. Setting a team goal
effectively focuses on this. Somewhere between 2.25 and 3.0 to 1 is
suggested.
SOME GOOD INFORMATION FROM DEL HARRIS:
* We have won almost 90% of our games when we have shot 50% or more
from the field. It is the most important statistic in winning
basketball games, followed by the percentage the defense allows the
opponent (WHICH NEEDS TO BE BELOW 45%).
* REWARD THE POST MAN WHO GETS GOOD POSITION. On offense we want to
pass to open men in the paint and has--do not reward the post people
with catches in the area ouside the hash marks and paint. Simply swing
the ball and use another option if the post man loses the "battle for
the paint." He can catch it on the weak side. Or, tell him to come out
to set a pick/roll.
* CUT HARD ON ALL CUTS. Floating on cuts jams the middle and allows the
defense to rest and read the play.
*THE MOST IMPORTANT PASS IS THE FIRST REVERSE PASS. The first reverse
pass makes the defense have to shift. If you are trying to score off
the drive, pass or quick shot too often on the first side of the
offense, you are always going against the defense when it is its
strongest. That first reverse established the team as a ball and player
movement team and an unselfish one. It tell the opponent that they are
going to have to beat our entire team, not just the man with the ball..

BASKETBALLSBEST COACHING TIP OF THE WEEK:
"One way you can tell that an athlete is totally committed is when you
see that he never quits. Like Moses Malone. Take rebounding. The good
rebounder operates on the assumption that every shot taken in a game
will be a miss. As a result, every time someone makes a shot, whether
at our basket or theirs, he positions himself to go for the rebound. A
lot of players will make a grab for six or seven of every ten
rebounds--but Moses went after ten of ten, and a hundred of a
hundred."...Pat Williams, from his book, The Magic of Teamwork.

WEST VIRGINIA BACK-DOOR PLAY
1 dribbles into position as 4 sets downscreen for 2.
1 looks to see how the defender is playing 2. If the defender is
overplaying 2, then 1 passes to 3 and 2 backdoors into lane for pass.
"Competing for a position is the best motivator of all "...Rick Pitino
CONNECTICUT WOMEN'S DOUBLE SCREEN PLAY
1 passes to 2 and cuts outside. 2 takes dribble into top of circle area
as 4 and 5 set doublscreen
for 3. After 3 cuts by doublescreen, 4 cuts to the basket. 2 can feed 3
for the shot, or
pass to 4 if defense over-reacts.
INSIDE FEED FROM THE FLEX OFFENSE
1 advances ball to flex entry position. 4 cuts as if to receive the
pass from 1 to initiate pass. Instead, he cuts away as shown and 1 skip
passes to 3 who passes to 5 in the low post area. Of course, this
option could be run from either side of the floor. If 4 was defended by
a player in foul trouble for exampe, 1 would dribble to left entry
position and after 5 cut up and back down, 1 would skip pass to 2 to
feed to 4.
This is just one of many Flex options shown in the ebook, THE COMPLETE
BOOK ON THE FLEX OFFENSE.

What you should know about your upcoming opponent:
(1) How many do they send to the offensive board.
(2) Where is the "head of their defense."
(3) How do they play defense in the post.
(4) When you pass the ball into the post, do they dig, double, or
stay.
(5) How many do they send to the defensive board.
(6) Do they deny the point guard the ball
(7) How do they play the ball screen
(8) Do they have a player you can "foul for
__________________________________________________________________
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN (IN NCAA TOURNAMENT)
#1 dribbles across midcourt and makes a pass to #3.
#4 clears to left side as #5 steps toward the ball so his screen will
not look obvious.
#1 moves as if to set a ball-screen for #3, then changes direction
and cuts off #5 for pass from #3.
Notice that Wisconsin cleared everyone to the same side of the floor,
which gave a great opening for #1s cut.
MICHIGAN STATE SPECIAL FOR 4 MAN
#1 passes to #5 and makes curved cut for screen for #4 who sets his man
up
by taking a step out then cuts hard off *1s screen for pass from #5.

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.
ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
